Today I went BEDFRAME SHOPPING!!!! Cos my old bedframe, the tatami style one, kinda got corroded by mould and i dunno wat when my neighbour's pipe burst and leaked. But my kind dad didnt want to make them pay, though by law they should pay for any and all damages.

In any case, I had to discard the old bedframe and get a new one!

SO THERE I went bedframe shopping!

After going to a few furniture shops, I decided my ideal bedframe would be one that had an elevated mattress, so I can fit a table and hopefully a wardrobe beneath it, to save space. Best if it can blend into my room... with all the pastel purply colors!

When I saw THIS!! I KNEW it was the PERFECT bedframe!!!

I am thinking of juz getting the bed on top, and the table to the right of the picture above. Cos I dun need the extra bed below, neither do I need the drawer set.

The picture above shows the table in full detail. The table that I want.

The picture above shows the wardrobe attached! COOL!

And guess what! You can mix and match the colors!!!! Any color of all the above can be changed to any other color on the color palettes below! Except for white la.

COOL RIGHT! But this set costs a whooping S$1600++!!!! HAIZ think maybe I shall settle for a less elaborate bedframe from Seahorse. Costs only S$400, pinewood, with an elevated bed, a tiny wardrobe fitted below with a table. Just nice. Plus i am kinda disgusted by the lady boss in the shop in the pictures above. Cos she was damn pushy. Forcing us to make a decision there and then when we kept telling her we had yet to measure my room for the exact dimensions. PLEASE LOR.. seriously quite a turnoff. Kept forcing us to make a decision there and then. My mum was easily swayed, almost bought it then. But I told the lady simply we HAD to measure my room first. BUT OF COS! Wat if it cant fit!!!

Haiz.

OH anyway right.. next wk will be a pretty crazy week for me.

Monday: work. Usually will reach home only at 9pm due to OT.
Tuesday: Intersem, tuition, dentist visit.
Wednesday: work, if my dentist visit renders me well enough to work.
Thursday to sunday: Promoting printer ink at Suntec PC show!!! The schedule is quite crazy, 10.30am to 10pm everyday. But guess when u need money, you got no choice.

ANYWAY please come support me k!!!! Hee hee let me know if you are coming my dear friends! Bring more friends!!!

And hor, if any of you have any more lobangs for earning money, please let me know! I am in need of money! Saving up for my Vancouver exchange! THANKS!!!!

Barstop

It was hidden and inconspicuous, almost obscure. Tucked discreetly and snugly behind tall potted palms, in the fringes of Devonshire road, an exclusive, upper class living district just off the busy town central of Singapore. A stark contrast of tasteful serenity with state of the art building designs.

Just to the left of it, was a petrol kiosk lying along the busy Killiney road. Opposite, stands the classy Abode at Devonshire, a private apartment building. To the side of the Abode, a new equally exclusive private apartment is being built. The rich flock to view the showflats everyday in their LVs, Guccis, Versaces.

In the midst of these surroundings, you tend to miss the Barstop, which is tucked away too inconspicuously. In fact, it is so obscure, you wont even give it a second look usually. Just a normal two storey shophouse refurnished into a bar, with an alfresco setting.

That is, until you see the crowd there. By crowd, I don't mean it's always filled to the brim or something. I just mean the people who go there. On any day, just passing the Barstop, you have a high chance of spotting a ferrari, lamborghini, maserati, rolls royce, etc. If you are not so lucky, you will see at least some porsches, BMW convertibles, Mercedes CLKs or SLKs, Nissan fairladies, Mazda MX5s, Celicas, MR2s or Integras.

I was walking home from work, from Somerset MRT station.

In the distance, I heard the roar of a powerful engine, that could only mean a ferrari, lambo, or maserati. My adrenaline started pumping. My heart started to race. I increased my speed. I walked faster and faster.....

AND THERE IT WAS! MY BABY! That sunny yellow Ferrari with the beautiful tri-colored bands tattooed thru the entire length of its glossy hot bod. It roared to a halt outside Barstop. I walked closer. In that tiny road, a mini jam was building. I walked closer to see why that is so. Not ONE but TWOOOO sunny yellow Ferraris were side by side in that tiny road, both waiting to park! OMG! I held my breath and walked closer.

The tiny side road to the right of the Barstop acts as a carpark for the super classy cars that visit it. There are special attendants looking after the cars to ensure they remain in tip top condition and no one attempts to put an ugly scar on them while their owners are enjoying themselves in the private exclusive cove of Barstop.

On this day, the side road was full. There was a Cayman parked inside. Outside, directly in front of the 2 ferraris, a maserati was parked directly in front of the Barstop.

KS almost faints in ecstasy!!!!! She ran home in delight!!! But not before blowing a kiss in the direction of the ang moh at the wheel of one of the ferraris!!!!

僧多粥少

Today I finally understand the true meaning of that.

Today I was helping out my colleague at my company, a global logistics company, global sales department, with some HR stuff. They were hiring an accounts personnel. They placed an ad in the ST for it. And today they were sorting out the CVs people sent to apply for the job.

Just 1 opening.

NINETY SEVEN people applying.

It was my first time reading people's CVs. Interesting.

There were many foreigners applying. In fact, i think almost 90% of the CVs came from non-Singaporeans. There was even an American... or was he Brit? Can't remember. Caucasian. Living in Singapore. Weird.. I thot all whites in Singapore are expats. Aint that supposed to mean they came here with a job already? Why come here to look for a job? Weird. And he stays in this nice landed property... those only affordable by the comfortable upper middle class. Hmmm weird.

Anyway, most of the applicants were not PRCs. There were some PRCs. But SURPRISE SURPRISE! Guess who Singaporeans have to fight most with for their jobs??? It's Filipinas!!! LOADS OF THEM! At least 80% of the CVs I estimate. There were native Indians too. And there was even a Singaporean Tengku. Tengku means Malay prince right? COOL!

And you see some of the pictures they attach to their CVs. OMG some were friggin ridiculous la! HAHA imagine A3 size photos! My colleague had to resize them to A4 but that was the smallest she could make them. Damn farnie. Dont understand why these people are so erm... proud of their pictures. Photowhores? I'm one too.. haha but definitely not to that extent.

And then came the expected salary. Some were degree holders. Some were fresh grads. Some were diploma holders. Some of the degree holders expected 2k to 3k salaries. Same for some of the fresh grads. Some expected around 4k, which was somewhat on par with their last drawn salary. Sorry for sounding sarcastic, but some of the diploma holders stated their expected salaries as 3k. HELLO they dont even have degrees or good credentials to show for... degree holders expect 2-3k and diploma holders expect 3k+?? The most ridiculous one I saw was this person who asked for 4k+. Eh u go be boss la. Starting in a company only u want so much. Please.. this kinda pple will never get a job ok! If its some specialised job scope maybe yes.. a bit higher pay. But this kinda job is that kind almost everybody can do! Just need a general degree!

Singaporeans.. I dunno wat to say man.. actually not just Singaporeans. Filipinas as well. PRCs too. I saw the CV of this PRC deans lister from triple E, NUS! OMG! Just kinda gagged. But well... I wonder. triple E deans lister.. what the hell are u doing in a logistics company working as an accounts personnel???

K anyway enough about my job. It was good for a while.. but well.. it's damn sian to work.. keep having OT and more OT. First day only OT non stop. KNS! And there are those demanding customers. OK i know. Those courier services are really lying when they have all those ads about wat living to deliver and showing all those superman-like couriers braving rain and sun and tornadoes and what not to deliver stuff on time. Cos in real life they dont. They arent always able to deliver on time. And my job is to find out what went wrong.

But surely... demanding that things get delivered from an address in Singapore to one in the States in 22 hours flat is really mission impossible aint it?! Little wonder most of the time my company isnt able to deliver. Then you have these ridiculous customers demanding that you account for every single minute that you are late. Cos the plane was late, cos of the weather blah blah... totally ridiculous. Then they came up with this system called a deductable timing system. They excuse my company for certain things like extreme weather and customs issue (means the package to be delivered gets delayed while passing thru customs) etc. These are the deductible times. If the amount of time that my company delivers late is more than the deductible times, then we have to compensate them. So poor me will have to calculate every single minute of deductible time from all those times that we are late, down to the last second!!! WHAT THE HELL!! Ridiculous or not! And the dumbest thing is, this is one of the smallest global customers that we have la! 嚣张什么嘛!!!

My company employs me solely to deal with this customer. An American company. Now you know why they say Americans are ridiculous.

K anyway I'm home now. Stop thinking about the depressing stuff from work. BTW just a passing thought.. the coffee at the pantry at work SUCKS! YUCKS! And its located in some 鸟不生蛋 place that has just one teeny coffee shop in a 1km radii.. so unless you wanna eat the same thing every single day u gotta drive out for lunch. For me, I just bring food from home. Save money. Good.

K I said I would stop talking about the depressing stuff from work. I mean it! I shall stop now! YAY BYE!!! Wait for my next entry about this COOL BAR!!

Watched the news on tv a few days ago, saw how many wept with joy after seeing that the 四面佛 buddhist statue was restored in Thailand. Suddenly, it brought to mind Wendy's MSN spaces post about Vesak day and its true significance.

How many Buddhists are worshipping for the sake of worshipping? How many truly know what the whole religion is all about?

Buddhism teaches us 四大皆空. We should not have any desires for worldly or material things. They talk about 大爱, 博爱. We love one and every person equally. Regardless of identity. There is no worldly desires 七情六欲, cos we love everybody equally and we can give up our lives for all equally. It is with this same equality that we treat all material things. We should not desire for riches or wealth, since we treat all material things equally.

Now we think back to the statue. I personally do not think the great Buddha will feel any different if people are worshipping him through a drawing or a gold-plated statue. He will love them all the same. That is his way of life. And that is how he attained enlightenment.

Believers, however, treat the Great Buddha like some sort of idol. They worship him and want to provide him with the best, with the same mentality as parents who want to provide kids with the best possible. But they stray from the true meaning of Buddhism, the true teachings of the Great Buddha, and the way of life he advocates for true enlightenment and true happiness.

My dear Buddhist friends, take some time, learn and discover more about the great wisdom of this man the Great Buddha, and pass the knowledge on to other believers. I too, am in the process of learning. Though I may not be able to fully practise what he preaches, I hope to be able to achieve that one day.

YAY ok thats all for today. CYA!!!!

I learned something in Astro yesterday. Something interesting.

You know what?!

Our sky is not blue!!!! Neither is it red or maroon as the sun is setting! It is all due to the differential scattering of different components of light by the atmosphere! OH MAN! All my 20+ years I thought the sky was blue simple cos it was blue! Now I feel SO CHEATED!!!! MAN aint that some news!!!

K fine scold me for being dumb. I'm prepared. Come come. SCOLD NOW! Haiz...

OH another thing....

THIS!

AURORAS! Also known as the Northern lights! AIN'T THEY PRETTY!!!

Auroras can be viewed at the poles. There are certain seasons best suited for viewing them. Like during the equinoxes in September and March. And of cos when the sky is clearer.

Auroras are dust from the Sun. During nuclear fusion, the Sun will give out Solar Wind (or something like that haha). And then when these gases (like sodium helium etc) reach Earth's atmosphere, they ionise and different atoms ionise to form different coloured auroras. DAMN PRETTY RIGHT????

Check this out.. a comet with a pretty aurora in the background!

This is the ultimate.. it's SO PRETTY!!!

I heard u can see auroras over in Canada too! But I think its more towards the North. Don't think you can see it in Vancouver.. so sad! But they say Alaska is the best place to view auroras! SO COOL! Really hope I can travel there to see it!!!!

K anyway this is sianz to the ultimate.. i got a QUIZ to study for and i totally have NO MOOD to mug for it! Cos its the HOLS! And i stayed out late yesterday and today i went for Cyn's bday party and then went bedframe shopping after that... and tmr i have WORK from 9am till 8pm! DIE LA! HOW?!

Anyway shall talk more tmr... CIAOZ! 02S78 buddies who wanna see our nice pictures from yesterday can please kindly click on our group site that is linked at the right margin.

OHH YAY i'm starting work tmr! Though it is at Expo.. which is like, really far.. but its an admin job that needs me just 2 days a week and pays 7 bucks an hour!!! COOL! YAY!

Now i'm hoping to land another weekend promoter job! Erm yep the loreal one fell thru. I KNEW IT! Cos i looked too ugly!!! =(((((((( *SOBZ* No more free hair color!

But hopefully i can land one of those weekend promoter jobs especially since the GSS season is coming and those shopping centres generally are in need of people! I called the Isetan one that Chan recommended me.. but the lady don't seem too keen. Hope I will still be able to get it though. Even though I can work just 3 days a week.. fri sat and sun. Yea I'm like, filling up every available hour with work. Need money la bo bian.

Now i'm having a headache trying to come up with some time for friends and family. My cousin needs to leave 23rd June for France I think for his pilot training and I gotta celebrate my bday with him before that. SIGH no time no time. And I still have my elective to study for. And my tuitions. NO MORE TIME FOR ALL MY TRASHY DRAMAS!

K i better make the most of my remaining time to watch them. CIAOZ!!!!

Superband fluke

I cant believe it. Either Singaporeans are deaf, or one of the girls in that poor excuse of a band has a rich sugar daddy who keeps voting for them.

I was tuning my guitar while watching the results show. When it was made known that they are STILL in, my guitar string broke in protest. DAMN. Now I gotta go get a new string. Never mind. Anyway I'm taking down my keyboard to play haha. Havent had that kinda feel for a long long time. Been still playing the piano but not the keyboard. It's time to sweep the dust off my baby!

K maybe now for my 2 cents worth on the whole superband thing. Those who know me long enough will know I'm quite into rock bands. No no not like those young fanatic girls who drool at those rock band idols in adoration... though yes I do some of that too.. but I prefer playing. Haha

I was thinking of learning percussion since JC but then drumsets are friggin ex so no go. And then I picked up guitar. But like what Weijian once told me, electric guitars are not like classical guitars. The strings are harder to strum cos they are metal, and u need to buy amplifiers, which cost up to thousands of dollars. But OH they are SO friggin cool! Never mind I shall stick to my keyboard for now.

Back to the bands. Judging from circumstances now, I shall list the top 4 bands I think are gonna make it to the end.

1. Qinobe

2. 迷路兵

3. Soul

4. Amber

K i know my preference for rock bands is damn obvious haha but I included Soul k? Soul are pretty good.. tho they are the typical boybands stuff. They can dance, can rap, can sing... basically 十八般武艺 样样精通. So yea. Except they cant play anything.

Qinobe is easily the winner. Rapper rock. A bit like Linkin Park, but Chinese style. Damn... listening to them is like totally enjoying myself in a quality rock concert. ENJOYABLE! Nothing more needs to be said. They are the ones.

迷路兵 are damn cute la! And man... they can really sing. Both the percussionist and the guitarist. The keyboardist is ok. But their performance is rather enjoyable. And their new arrangement of old songs are so good! Like today's 过火 really damn nice! Totally enjoyable.

Amber must be the weakest of the four so far.. but i personally like their style. Dunno why they dont seem to sit too well with the judges. This band is really pretty good. But in any case, erm... yea. It doesnt hurt that the band happens to have this really cute midi player who looks like the TVB actor Chan Kin Fung. Haha

K enough of my 2 cents worth. Anyway, next week is when the teams voted out make a comeback. Usually they will make a strong comeback. So there might be new winners-to-be yet.

The other day, I had this senior who was thinking of forming a band. But in the end I think he couldnt find enough people so there.. think its hard to find bassists and percussionists in the rock scene in Singapore. Anyway if any of u are interested to tell me k? I'll pass the msg to him. Playing Jrock. Yea. Those who know me since my sec sch days will also know.. Jrock.. my fav kinda rock!

Talking about Jrock... please hor... Lucify are NOT drag queens or gays ok... they belong to a genre called VISUAL rock.. like those Jap bands L'arc En Ciel, Glay, TM revolution, Malice Mizer, that guy Gackt, etc etc. That is VISUAL rock, very typical of Jrock. NOT drag queens ok!!! PLEASE! Do not degrade that kinda rock in this manner. It is a very respectable form of rock.

K thats about all for now... I'm going to watch my dramas.. maybe will pick up my baby keyboard again tomorrow. Update you guys again! BYEEE!!

Sunday, May 14, 2006

Hey sorry guys for the lack of updates. My com juz sorta dieded on me, together with all my vids and pics and important files inside it goddamnit. So now I'm using my mama's lappie. Shit. Hope the international house has a copy of my exchange matching shit. If not I can go die. Never mind. Anyway here are some pictures! Heee my mum's lappie has bluetooth so I can easily upload pics from my phone inside!

These are from Peishan's birthday!

It's held at Marriotte that rich kid... haha

I decided to play waitress....

All these drinks!!! And the food was so totally out of this world! Ok yea.. Marriotte.. the cheesecake was melt-in-your-mouth... fantastic!

Oh anyway.. my mani and pedi

K I know its not clear. Never mind.

Anyway, I also went shopping today!!! OOOHHH!!!! I bought a new leather Guess sling bag and cool glossy sunglasses like those Maggie Q wore in MI3!!!!

It was after I reached home that I realised... damnit.. seems like my sunglass box ran out of space.... I have so many sunglasses that I almost lost track of all of them. And these are not all... I have another pair I keep in the car for driving.. hmmm anyone wants sunglasses? Maybe it's time to give or sell some away...

Which brings me to my earrings... I have such a scary collection.. this is just a fraction of them. Anyway, my mum's colleague's daughter came up with this super creative method of storing earrings!!! COOL!!!!

But you can't store ear hoops with these though. Haha so my ear hoops are stored elsewhere.

Oh anyway I saw this famous blogger together with her ex while shopping today. Hmmm are they still together? Haha I have no idea! Ok time to go watch my dramas. Youtube is the bane of my life... sigh... and all my Bleach and Naruto vcds... and those DVDs I bought from Shenzhen half a yr ago that I havent had time to finish... SIGHHH time i started chionging those dramas!!!! CYA!!!!

Going for mother's day dinner later... heee Happy Mother's Day all mummies!!!

When beauty is not an advantage but a requirement

Went for the interview today. For the hair product. Gawsh.. everybody there was SO well groomed and SO pretty! The place exuded elegance and sophistication and glamour.. Well with several luxury brands under its belt, u cant expect less. But I never really expected this kinda reception. Really.

At first, the preliminary round was held in this inconspicuous room, a poor excuse of an office. Even there the people were beautiful. Every single one. But well.. placed in a lousy setting. Anyway first round was pretty easy. Though I think I said something wrong but... well.. that lady said can consider (me). So I guess it was ok. And I thought it was over. But then.. little did I know it was only the beginning of my nightmare!

The lady in the makeshift office directed us upstairs to a SECOND interview, with a grading sheet (something like those u see for our composition tests in primary and secondary schools) attached to our original sheet.

Upstairs, we took a look at the grading sheet.

*GAGS*

There were these criteria on the left hand column, and the right hand column were the grades.

Criteria 1:
Grooming.
Grades:
Well-groomed. Acceptable. Satisfactory. Unacceptable.

Criteria 2:
Skin color.
Grades:
Fair. Light skin. Tan. Dark.

Criteria 3:
Looks.
Grades:
Pretty. Acceptable. Satisfactory. Normal. Unacceptable.

Criteria 4:
Complexion.
Grades:
Good. Acceptable. Satisfactory. Unsatisfactory.

The above are roughly what I can remember. Might not be the exact same words used.. but the meaning is there. Wah lau eh I was damn stressed la! Everybody there was so beautiful. The staff I mean. The other interviewees were ok la.. but they all had such heavy makeup on! And I was like.. almost bare-faced. Cos I just went from school.. duh... anyway I half expected to get scolded for not putting on enough make-up.. cos everyone there looks soo beautiful and so perfectly made up!

I kept checking myself in the mirror... patting down my dishevelled hair no thanks to the disgusting rain that started the minute I stepped out of the MRT station. And then I sorta gave up the struggle internally. Aiya look ugly then ugly. Not like I'm earning a lot from this! So I settled down to watch the video playing on the tv screens inbuilt on the glossy white walls.

And I waited like.. 40 minutes for my interview! I almost wanted to rush out already cos any later and I was going to be late for my tuition! But then they called me in.

The interview itself was ok. Basically they almost didnt even ask anything. Just told me what to expect what to say how to sell stuff and so on. And then wah lau they took a picture of me! What if they take my picture and later go do dunno wat voodoo spell on it! Scary sia!!!! HOW?!

Aiya anyway oso not cfm that I will get the job. If I get it, they will get company professionals to color our hair for us so we can be good promoters. That's what I gian la mostly. Cos that is really quite good a hair color brand. Hee cos I was thinking of coloring my hair a dark purple before going Vancouver. Haha now I'll get it for free! If i get it.

Now hoping that Chan will help me land that job at Isetan! Cos now GSS should have a lot of openings! Haha

OK now back to yesterday's topic.

I was talking about my love for travel remember?

Anyway I always wanted to be able to work all over the world. I will graduate in 2008 yea? I was thinking of going Beijing to find a job. Then I can watch the Olympics!!!! But later they said Beijing is plagued by sandstorm. So I was thinking.. maybe I should go Shanghai instead! COOL RITE!

Then my dream job was to become an archaeologist. But it's a post grad degree.. and sigh I dunno where to get that degree. So well.. maybe.. we'll think about that again. Anyone can tell me if any university offers that? Hee

Other places I would like to visit... Caribbean, Africa, Russia, Mediterranean, Europe... etc haha. BACKPACK! Sian... who would like to join me???? Heee

K time to go watch DVD.

Meanwhile.. happy VESAK DAY! May everyone count your blessings and may it be a happy day for everyone. Will blog about it later!

Wednesday, May 10, 2006

OHH I got a call from the agency telling me they got the PERFECT job for me! As in, I can afford not to work tuesdays and thursdays and STILL earn money! Yea sigh.. it's a PROMOTER job. K I really hate promoter jobs. Cos its really damn paiseh. But well... i really need money so I guess I cant afford to be fussy.

It is a hair color promoting job at Guardian. And I still need to go for an interview tomorrow. And WAH LAU EH still need to dress up and put make up KNS! KAOZ I cant imagine wearing make up to school la. Heck... just a little will do. And this kinda dumb temp job.. still tell me to bring photo and zap my certs... haha wat a joke. I dunno la most prob I wont do it. Zap the certs I mean. Too much trouble. As for the photo, if not for the fact that I have a few at hand, I would probably forget about them too.

Sian... now I totally understand how it is to be totally broke and in need of a job and none comes knocking.

But for all that I've said, though I really hate promoting jobs, I seem to have a knack for them. I hate standing up the entire day and all that, but somehow I always am able to get some business. Let's see how things go. Since my pay is also comm based, of cos I hope to sell more! Hee send your frens to buy stuff from me k? I'll tell u all exactly where I'm working if I do get the job.

SIGH I really wanted to go on a holiday this intersem! But no such luck. Maybe next intersem. Anyway I'll probably be in Vancouver.. so there. It's a holiday-sem already. Haha.

Hope before I start going out to work, I will have time to go somewhere to backpack. WHEE! Havent actually talked much about my aspirations rite.. ok maybe I will tell you people a bit in this post.

My dream would be to go backpacking in some third world country. Better still, 4th world country! That would be Mongolia. It is the only 4th world country in the world I think. OK before u think I'm some sadist who likes to torture myself... u guys should google for mongolia or tibet pictures and take a look at the breathtaking sand dunes in the desert and beautiful greens of the grasslands. The beautiful people, the beautiful culture. Or the silk road should be really nice too. Things you will never get to see in Singapore. Beautiful.

Or go to the rural areas of China with my grandma to visit relatives. Those beautiful people with beautiful hearts. They welcomed us with open arms and served us with the best food they could afford. Then we took a stroll to the seaside... and there was the beautiful blue sea! Everything was old and rustic... but it was all so lovely! Things you can never ever see in Singapore. Never. Hardworking people watering crops, tending seedlings, ox plowing the fields, goats, pigs, running everywhere. My dad couldnt wait to get out of that place. But I loved it.

Another dream of mine is to be able to travel the world. Work all over the world! Ok lets save something for tomorrow. Will tell you all about it tomorrow! And probably also about the interview. See how it went. SIGH!

"单恋,是人类绝无仅有的感觉。你绝对不会看见一只猫偷偷的爱着另一只猫。"

Quote of the day. From the drama I'm watching. Haha

Wanted to blog about hell lots of stuff juz now.. idiot blogger could not sign me on! Anyway now I'm too tired already. Still have tuition early tmr morning.. sighh. need $$

Sunday, May 07, 2006

Oh I'm SOOO lazy to blog now that I have so many other entertainment choices!

Ok lets see what we did today. I slacked around at home after I woke up at 12pm... (yippee been SO LONG since I had that kinda luxury) then I ate brunch, then I bathed and slack some more.. then I took out the novel I borrowed from the library and started reading... then I contemplated taking an afternoon nap... then my mum suggested going out...

And OUT WE WENT!

We went to Tiong Bahru Plaza and I got a manicure and pedicure and mummy got a pedicure! WHEE!!! Like.. I SOOO love my pretty nails! Shit that sounds so Paris-Hilton-Bimbo-ish.. but I FEEL like Paris Hilton now! Exams over.. GSS coming.. it's time to SHOP TILL I DROP!

DANG! Then I remember I'm still happily unemployed... sigh... and my tuitions are not paying themselves out yet cos of the hiatus I took during my exams. Fret not. I shall start dialing up all the job agencies tomorrow and I'm sure I will land a deal sooner or later! YAY! Even with my crazy schedule.. 有志者事竟成! YEA!

Do not ask me out too much.. do not make me waste too much money yea? I need to save up for my Vancouver exchange my friends....

Oh yea. BTW I did promise to talk about the exchange din I? Sorry KS getting old.. short term memory.

Ok anyway here goes.

I submitted an application to go on this exchange program called INSTEP in NTU and then weeks later I received the reply that my application has been approved and I've been chosen to go to University of British Columbia in Vancouver for an exchange! I represent my faculty and NTU! And then I went to the UBC website to apply, and then now I will have to wait for them to process the application. I may not be chosen. But hopefully that chance is small.. haha. If everything goes well, I will have to reach Vancouver latest 3rd September. If I wanna tour the region I might go early cos my term ends 22nd December and by then school's almost starting here in Singapore. I might stay till 26th to experience for myself a WHITE CHRISTMAS for the first time in mah life! COOL!

Anyway now there's this slight lil hiccup cos my idiotic fac decides to rearrange the modules and introduce some new ones, mainly TCM modules, and thus I may have to re-match my subjects. And the most most idiotic thing is, I kept emailing the coordinator in my desperation to clear up my doubts but he TOTALLY ignored me. Asshole. So I decided to change tactics and emailed the international relations office. Hope they will give me an answer soon! I will know if the UBC side accepts me by this month. If yes, then I'll have to register for my subjects before 10th june.

Anyone has any recommendations on good and cheap airlines to get to Vancouver? Yea I know I'm jumping the gun a bit.. my application has not even been approved yet! But hell.. one needs to plan yea? Hee

Oh COOL I'm sooo excited about this whole thing. I got around asking pple about Vancouver and UBC and EVERYONE said they LOVED it over there! OOOHHHH! They said Vancouver's famous for ski-resorts and other snow sports I think. Hee but whether I try those will depend on my financial situation. I calculated. I'm gonna spend 10k there and not a cent more. I'll try my best to earn 8k by myself during this 4 months.. hopefully I can achieve it!

Yea I know.. 10k.. should be affordable for my parents but heyyyy after a certain age you stop wanting to rely on your parents yea? So I wanna earn my own money spend my own money! So basically I'm on a tight budget. Anyone who wants souvenirs from Vancouver... ummm.. maple leaves will be fine? Yea I figure. You guys are the greatest greatest friends EVER I swear! =)

OK as for the other things I'm gonna do during hols.. let's leave that for tmr's post yea? I'm tired k? I have a tuition to go for tmr morning and another one in the afternoon! SIGH need to sleep! Goodbye!!!!

No more political posts for now.

=D

I'll tell u all wat i aim to do during the hols in my next entry.

Now too tired.

Well done LTK and CST!

I just came across the greatest obstacle to me going to Vancouver.

AHHHH!!!!!

Just now I went to the toilet.. And.......................................... i saw this humongous horrendous MONSTER!!! I shall call it monster cos it ran so fast I couldnt even get a good look at it! SHIT I didnt even dare to use the toilet after that!!! Wah kaoz!

I tried to think of a solution. My parents were asleep so getting them to help fight the monster was out of the question. I tried to be brave. Like those 武侠小说 heros. I took out my 倚天剑 and 屠龙刀 and 碧血剑 and I poked poked the toilet bowl to try to get the MONSTER out. But somehow it remained behind the bowl somewhere. I REALLY tried my best to get it out. Really! I never purposely hit soft soft and stand far far behind and dont dare to look ok! REALLY! That is for wimps and wusses and I'm a hero! My name is Hero Lim!

But nowadays MONSTERS getting smarter. They have BASIC INSTINCT knowing that you are here to SLAY them. So they hide behind toilet bowls. I mean, they are smart la. Who would dismantle toilet bowls just to slay a MONSTER?! Smart lor. Of cos I won't.

So I decided to adopt Plan B. I gently closed the toilet door, switched off the lights, then I went to another toilet, and used it to relieve myself. Then after that, I took my pillow and bolster and blanket and went to the room in my house FURTHEST away from the MONSTER-INFESTED toilet to spend the night. Good thing my brother away serving the country so now my house many empty rooms. Then finally, I used many many rags to stuff the bottom slit of the door and i TRIPLE-locked the door. You never know what MONSTERS can do these days. What if it OPENS the door and finds this SCRUMPTIOUS meal that is me... and decides to FEAST on me?!

Scary right!

I think I can submit this story to the scriptwriters of Scary Movie 5! Then can earn extra money!
